Skagway: The Trailer Palace

After our arduous and long sailing excursion, it was time to relax, kick back and soak up the good vibes... Here's a little glimpse into our Skagway leg,  brought to you by our couchsurfing host with the most, Nick (and friends).

The Trailer Palace included a well-equipped outdoor bar (great for afternoon naps)
an indoor bar for use only when the outdoor fire and wood-burning hot tub are heating up

a well-stocked library, full of travel books for anywhere a young lady desires to go
an eclectic music and instrument selection from all corners of the globe, which can be enjoyed in front of the wood stove.

When we weren't kickin' back in the Palace, we were shrimpin'!
 Bethany gets "hooked"...

Look closer: Live shrimp inside this fish mouth. Totally rad!
Shrimpin' and a-fishin'.... fishin' and a-shrimpin'!

Enjoying an afternoon stroll with Nick.

Nick: Once a guide, always a guide
It's like somebody made this sign just for us.
The true Skagway experience: evening transportation
Whether the patrons of this bar liked it or not, we still rocked our acoustic folk tunes hard (and I think only one person walked out). Success!
Our manager, Bethany, shmoozin' the crowd with our new treat, Clints Cigars. These hand-rolled beauties are a must (if you like cigars)!
Before our ferry departure to Juneau, we soaked up every last moment of Skagway, and finished with a last-minute hike to Lower Lake.
Our wonderful hosts, holding up their very well-deserved pins. Thanks a whole heap for an amazing time: Ryan, Blair, Nick and Chris! May the Palace live on!
